Partner brief

What you can — and can’t — say.

A creator saying “it healed me / fixed my anxiety” is a forbidden outcome claim that attaches to Belong and the App Store listing. When any check below fails, it does not ship. The honesty is the moat.

This is the whole ask, in the open, before you even apply. If it reads like the kind of honesty you already practice, we’ll get along.

You can say

  • Your own real story — the hard year, the sobriety, the grief, the love and loss, whatever is actually yours.
  • Concrete patterns clearly framed as an example, never as a typical result.
  • What the app actually is: 5 entry types (journal, prayer, brain dump, dream, gratitude), a roughly 14-minute loop, a daily → weekly → monthly → yearly cascade of reflections, an AI memory, a chat you can return to, adjustable tone (Supportive, Balanced, Direct, Ruthless).
  • How privacy actually works: transcribed on your device by default, with an honest server fallback for longer or failed recordings — audio and transcript sync to your own private account.
  • “Live on the App Store.” On iPhone, with desktop access to read.
  • The goal of one million people belonging — stated as a goal, never as a count you already have.

Never say

  • No numbers as proofNo “join thousands,” no download / user / entry / revenue counts, no star ratings, no live counters. Internal metrics are never public copy.
  • No outcome, therapeutic, or clinical claimsNot “fix your anxiety,” “heal,” “transform your life in 7 days,” “AI therapist,” or “replaces your therapist.” Belong is a mirror, not a clinician — adjacent to therapy, never a replacement; for the hours between support.
  • No privacy or encryption absolutesNot “end-to-end encrypted,” not “audio never leaves your device.” Say “transcribed on your device by default” and name the secure server fallback honestly.
  • No fake urgency or scarcityNo countdowns, no “spots left,” no “lock in $9.99 before it goes up,” no “first 500 founding” as a live counter. Founding is time-based, not a count. State a price change as calm fact: “the price goes up at the end of summer.”
  • No streak-guilt or hustle energyNo “crush your goals,” “don’t break your streak,” “we miss you.” No streaks, no gamification — that is a locked brand promise. No exclamation-point energy.
  • No AI hypeNot “magic,” not “reads your mind.”
  • No spiritual-outcome claimsIf you open faith content, do not promise “deepen your walk” or “hear God clearer.”
  • No one’s words without consent, everNever use a user’s words or a screenshot of their entry without explicit per-post permission. Never a before/after.

Run any post through this before it goes out

  1. Any number used as proof? Cut it.
  2. Any promise of an outcome, a feeling, or a cure? Reframe it to a mirror, not a result.
  3. Any privacy or encryption absolute? Correct it to “transcribed on-device by default” plus the honest server fallback.
  4. Any urgency, scarcity, countdown, or “spots left”? State it as calm fact.
  5. Any streak-guilt, hustle, or exclamation energy? Rewrite it in the grounded voice.
  6. Using someone’s words or clip? Confirm the per-post yes. No before/after.
  7. Is there a real human sentence in it? Nothing ships in template-voice.

Say “How I…”, never “How to…”

Speak from what you have lived, not from a lectern. “How I journaled through the hardest year of my life,” not “How to journal through hard times.” No expert posture. No advice framing. You are a person sharing, not a coach teaching.

Disclosure — required on every post

You must clearly disclose your connection to Belong in every post, video, or mention that promotes it — per the FTC Endorsement Guides. Say what you actually think; never claim a result Belong does not deliver. If a post is not disclosed, we will ask you to fix it; repeated non-disclosure is grounds for ending the partnership.

The bar is conspicuous, repeated disclosure — not a tag buried in the hashtags or hidden behind “more.” Put it where people actually see it.

Feed post (photo / carousel)

Put the disclosure in the caption itself, near the top, above the “more” fold — not down in the hashtags. Start with “#ad” or “Belong partner —.”

Reel / short video

Disclose inside the video — say it out loud and/or put it on-screen as text — and in the caption. A caption-only tag is not enough for video, since sound-off viewers miss it.

Story

Add a visible “#ad” or “Belong partner” text or sticker on every relevant frame. Stories disappear and are viewed one frame at a time, so each frame needs its own disclosure.

Live

Say it out loud at the start and repeat it periodically. Viewers join mid-stream, so one mention at minute one does not reach everyone.

Newsletter / blog

A clear disclosure near the top, before the link — in plain text, not only a footer line.

Acceptable disclosure language

  • #ad
  • Belong partner
  • Paid partnership with Belong
  • I earn a commission if you subscribe through my link.

Use the platform’s built-in “Paid partnership” label where it exists, and still add your own clear disclosure. Vague tags — “sp,” “collab,” “thanks Belong” — are not clear enough under the guides.

You belong.
